Make sure the tag is well-lit and the numbers fill the frame. Handwritten signs work too — hold the phone steady for a beat and let the camera focus.
Does merca read barcodes?
No — merca reads the printed price the way your eyes do, not the barcode. That's what makes it work on handwritten signs and shelf tags with no barcode.
What types of tags does merca handle?
Standard shelf price tags, deli and weight-based tags (merca does the lb × rate math for you), handwritten signs, and markdown stickers.
Does merca need an internet connection?
Never. All scanning and math run on your device. Dead zones in the back aisle don't affect merca at all.
Does merca store or share my shopping data?
Nothing leaves your phone. No account, no cloud sync, no analytics tied to your cart. Your groceries stay yours.
